New mental health and counseling centers open for children in Czechia
New specialized facilities are being established in the Czech Republic to support children and adolescents facing mental health challenges and developmental needs.
A new mental health center is launching in Hradec Králové to serve children and adolescents aged six to eighteen. The facility will integrate a multidisciplinary team including child psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, special educators, and family therapists. The center aims to provide comprehensive care that extends beyond clinical settings, offering support directly in homes and schools to help families manage daily life, academic challenges, and social relationships. Applications for the service are expected to begin in December.
In Ostrava, the BRIM center has been established to provide special pedagogical counseling and speech development support. Founded by Kateřina Köhlerová, the center combines professional guidance with a family cafe environment to create a safe space for children, students, and parents. The initiative focuses on emotional management, learning support, and speech development through a collaborative approach.
