New Patriotic Party faces internal disputes in Ghana and US branches

Grassroots members in the Suhum constituency of Ghana's New Patriotic Party (NPP) have appealed to the party's national executive and the office of its 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, urging intervention to reconcile growing divisions under the local MP, Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe. They warn that unchecked factionalism could jeopardise the party's electoral prospects in the area.

In the United States, the NPP-USA branch has disqualified five aspirants from contesting internal executive positions, citing alleged non‑payment of membership dues. The candidates allege they paid on time and have provided receipts, and they are calling for a review by the party’s national leadership to ensure due process and maintain unity among the diaspora members.
