Ghana NPP elects new regional executives for 2028 preparations
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has concluded its regional executive elections across Ghana, electing new leadership teams intended to reorganize the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Key regional victories include Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA) in the Ashanti Region, Bernard Okoe-Boye in Greater Accra, and Jeff Konadu Addo in the Eastern Region. In the Bono Region, Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC) retained his chairmanship, while Elvis Figo Awonekai was elected in the Upper East Region. Other notable winners include Alhaji Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman in the Upper West Region, Robert Sarfo-Mensah in Ahafo, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana in Savannah, and Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa in the Western Region.
Following the elections, NPP presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia congratulated the winners, praising the peaceful conduct of the polls and calling for unity among all members to secure victory in 2028. Newly elected leaders have emphasized the need for rebranding, grassroots mobilization, and internal discipline to rebuild the party’s organizational strength.
