Internal developments within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been highlighted by recent leadership elections and campaign activities. In the United Kingdom, the Friends of Bawumia UK group has formally congratulated Andy Owusu following his election as Chairman of the NPP UK Branch on August 8. The group pledged full cooperation with the new administration to strengthen party structures and promote organizational growth.

In Ghana, former NPP General Secretary John Boadu has concluded a campaign tour through the Oti Region and five northern regions as he seeks the position of National Chairman. Boadu emphasized the necessity of organizational reforms, grassroots reconnection, and party unity to prepare for the 2028 general elections. He reaffirmed his support for the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating his goal is to help the party regain its electoral strength.
