New Roads Opened at Karadağ High Plateau Celebration in Trabzon, Turkey
On 11 July 2026, a traditional gathering was held at Karadağ Yaylası in the Vakfıkebir district of Trabzon Province. The event, part of the annual Karadağ Yayla festivals, included the inauguration of newly paved roads connecting the plateau.
Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, Governor Tahir Şahin, MP Adil Karaismailoğlu, Vakfıkebir Mayor Fuat Koçal, association president Abdulkadir Haliloğlu and many local residents attended. Genç noted that during the election period the demand for road improvements was conveyed to the Transport Ministry, resulting in an initial 8‑km asphalt section and the opening of a modern, safety‑marked road. He added that additional segments—12 km at Deregözü, 7.2 km at Komandıra and 4.1 km at Çarşıbaşı Kaldırım—will be completed as promised.
Şahin praised the collaboration between local and central authorities, emphasizing the ongoing work to upgrade Trabzon’s 23 000‑km road network and improve access to its “paradise” high‑land areas.
