New seafood and wine establishments open in Nice and Marseillan

New culinary venues have opened in the French regions of Nice and Marseillan. In Nice, Nicolas Bercovici has launched Mer, a seafood bar located on rue du Pontin in the Old Town. Situated adjacent to his existing wine and tapas bar, Berco, the new establishment offers a variety of oysters, including Tarbouriech and Giol de Toulon, alongside lobster, prawns, and seasonal sea urchins. The menu also features dishes such as scallops, stuffed mussels, and octopus.

In Marseillan, Orencia Cathala has opened Le Verre d’Orencia on the quai de la Résistance. This wine bar, located on the port, focuses on Occitanie wines and offers platters of oysters and gourmet boards. Cathala, who has a background in restaurant management, established the 100-square-meter venue to provide a convivial atmosphere with a terrace overlooking the port.
