New skincare actives like PDRN and NMN target eye area care

The skincare industry is increasingly developing specialized formulas for the delicate eye area to combat dryness, fine lines, and fatigue. While traditional ingredients like retinol, peptides, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and antioxidants remain staples, new formulations influenced by the South Korean beauty industry are introducing advanced actives such as PDRN, EGF, and NMN.

Thomas Kim, a pharmacist and technical lead at Osang Cosmetic, explains that modern eye care focuses on the strategic combination of complementary components. For instance, hydrating ingredients maintain comfort and reduce dryness, while peptides target firmness and fine lines, and antioxidants protect against free radicals.

PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide), often referred to as salmon DNA, has gained prominence for its ability to aid skin revitalization, improve texture, and provide regenerative properties to address visible signs of aging.
