New solar park and battery storage projects begin in Germany

Construction has commenced on a new solar park with integrated battery storage in Michelsberg, Germany. The project, a collaboration between EAM Natur Energie and the Energiegenossenschaft Schwalm-Knüll, will span approximately eight hectares. The facility is designed to have a photovoltaic capacity of around seven megawatt peak (MWp) and a battery storage capacity of 2.5 megawatts (MW).

The installation will utilize bifacial solar modules, which capture sunlight from both sides. Expected to be operational by spring 2027, the project aims to support the regional energy transition by allowing stored electricity to be provided at a later time.
