New South Wales police investigate fatal stabbing of woman and three children

A woman and three children were found injured in a vehicle near a tourist spot in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, on Sunday. One child, believed to be under five years old, died at the scene, while two other children and a woman over 40 are in critical condition.

Emergency services responded to the scene on Waratah Road in Valley Heights near Springwood around 12:45 PM. Passersby provided first aid to the victims before an ambulance arrived. The children are receiving treatment at Westmead Children’s Hospital, and the woman is being treated at Westmead Hospital.

The motive for the stabbing remains unclear. NSW Police have cordoned off the area and are appealing to the public for information, specifically requesting any dashcam or phone footage from individuals present at the scene to contact the Springwood Police Station.
