New speed camera to be installed on I/52 road near Pasohlávky
A new section speed camera is being installed on the I/52 road near Pasohlávky, between Brno and Mikulov. The South Moravian Regional Authority approved the request from the Road and Motorway Directorate to implement the speed monitoring system.
The device will be installed on existing street lighting poles near the turn-off for Aqualand Moravia and the Merkur campsite. Currently, a reduced speed limit of 50 km/h is in effect in this specific section. While police have approved the installation, they noted that speed cameras are not a final solution for road safety and that underlying infrastructure risks must still be addressed.
This marks the second radar system on the I/52. A previous installation at the intersection of roads 52 and 381 has already recorded significant numbers of violations, with reports indicating approximately 24,539 speeding offenses were detected over a five-month period last year.
