Speed camera installation on I/52 road
Overview
Authorities in the South Moravian region are expanding speed monitoring infrastructure on the I/52 road near Pasohlávky, located between Brno and Mikulov. The South Moravian Regional Authority approved the installation of a new section speed camera on existing street lighting poles near the Merkur campsite and the Aqualand Moravia turn-off.
The area currently maintains a reduced speed limit of 50 km/h. While police have approved the new device, they noted that speed cameras are “not a final solution for road safety” and emphasized that underlying infrastructure risks require attention. This installation follows a previous radar system at the intersection of roads 52 and 381, which recorded approximately 24,539 speeding offenses over a five-month period last year.
