New summer “cool” foods debut in Japan and Taiwan

In Japan, several food brands have launched products marketed as summer‑time “cool” foods that help lower body heat. Muji released a mint‑max chocolate ice cream, and Nissui’s “Morioka‑style cold noodles” remain icy even after microwave heating. Other items highlighted include Asahi’s limited‑edition chilled Super Dry spicy beer and Meiji’s refreshing cold vegetable soup.

In Taiwan, the Doufu Catering Group introduced seasonal Korean‑style cold‑noodle sets at its three restaurant brands – Jiang Mantang, Beicun Tofu House and Han Jiang Xi’s Kitchen. The dishes combine ice‑crushed broth with fresh seafood, tofu, vegetables and grilled meat, marketed as a quick way to beat temperatures above 30 °C during the current heat wave.
