New Taipei City hosts 2026 E-sports Battle grand finals
The fifth annual ‘2026 New Taipei E-sports Battle’ offline grand finals commenced on June 13 at the New Taipei E-sports Base. The two-day event features competitive matches in three popular titles: ‘Honor of Kings’, ‘Call of Duty: Mobile’, and ‘Naraka: Bladepoint’. The competition offers a total prize pool of 180,000 TWD.
Sheng Xiao-rong, Director of the Economic Development Bureau of New Taipei City, attended the opening ceremony. She highlighted that New Taipei City has been a pioneer in the esports sector since establishing the nation’s first ‘New Taipei E-sports Base’ in 2018. The city has hosted over 1,000 esports events, attracting more than 27.7 million participants to date.
The venue has recently undergone upgrades, including the installation of a 200-inch LED wall and improved climate control to provide a professional-grade environment. Beyond the main tournaments, the event includes interactive zones featuring Vtuber experiences, racing simulators, and shooting simulators to promote the broader digital content and esports ecosystem.
