Esports tournaments in Taiwan

Various cities in Taiwan are hosting or organizing major esports competitions throughout 2026.

In Taipei and Hsinchu, registration opened for the 2026 Taipei City Cup International Esports Competition and the third edition of the Zhuqian Cup. The Taipei event features a NT$1.9 million prize pool and includes titles such as Street Fighter 6 and League of Legends ARAM mode. The Hsinchu competition offers NT$240,000 in prize money and also incorporates Street Fighter 6.

In New Taipei City, the fifth annual ‘2026 New Taipei E-sports Battle’ held its offline grand finals at the New Taipei E-sports Base. The tournament featured Honor of Kings, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Naraka: Bladepoint with a total prize pool of 180,000 TWD. The event included interactive zones for Vtuber experiences and simulators to support the local digital content ecosystem.

In August 2026, major festivals were held in Taichung and Kaohsiung. The 2026 Taichung Esports Carnival at Taichung City Hall featured Street Fighter 6, Valorant, and a high-profile League of Legends exhibition match between players from Team Flash and AHQ. Local officials reported that city funding for esports competitions has increased from 4 million to 30 million TWD.

In Kaohsiung, the tenth anniversary of the ‘Six Cities Esports’ tournament took place, featuring League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Valorant. In the Teamfight Tactics category, the team ‘JPK’ won the championship and received a 60,000 TWD prize from Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai. The tournament seeks to integrate esports with cultural and creative industries.
