New York authorities investigate fatal fire and hit-and-run crash

New York State Police are investigating a fatal structure fire that occurred early Friday morning at the White Birch Apartments in Woodstock, Ulster County. One person was found dead at the scene, while another individual was transported to Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston to be treated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is working alongside the Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit to determine the circumstances.

In a separate incident in Troy, New York, police have arrested 27-year-old Ari B. Ginsburg in connection with a hit-and-run crash involving a city ambulance. The crash, which occurred Sunday night, resulted in injuries to two Troy firefighters. Ginsburg has been charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident and failing to stop at a stop sign.
