New York City cyclists killed in separate hit-and-run accidents
Two cyclists were killed in separate hit-and-run incidents across New York City on Tuesday.
In Brooklyn, 29-year-old Paulina Pec was struck by a white pickup truck while riding her bicycle on Jamaica Avenue near Cypress Hills Cemetery. Despite wearing a helmet, she died after being transported to Brookdale University Hospital. The driver fled the scene and remains at large.
In the Bronx, 51-year-old Angelo Camero was fatally struck on Bruckner Boulevard in the Longwood neighborhood. According to the NYPD, a driver in a black BMW was speeding and caused a chain reaction collision involving several vehicles before striking Camero. The driver abandoned the BMW and fled the area in another vehicle. Camero, a mechanic, was returning home from work at the time of the accident.
