New York Film Festival Announces 32-Film Main Slate for 64th Edition

The 64th New York Film Festival, running from September 25 to October 12, has unveiled its Main Slate of 32 films. Opening night will feature James Gray’s crime drama “Paper Tiger,” set in Queens and starring Adam Driver and Miles Teller. Tony Gilroy’s “Behemoth!” starring Pedro Pascal will serve as the centerpiece gala, while Ava DuVernay’s documentary “14th,” a sequel to her acclaimed “13th,” will close the festival.

The lineup includes world and U.S. premieres from a range of acclaimed directors: Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s “All of a Sudden,” Pedro Almodóvar’s “Bitter Christmas,” Andrew Haigh’s “A Long Winter,” Radu Jude’s “The Diary of a Chambermaid,” Lee Chang‑dong’s “Possible Love,” Mike Leigh’s “Tender Loving Care,” Pawel Pawlikowski’s “Father Land,” and Ira Sachs’s “The Man I Love.” Additional selections feature Chris Rock’s “Misty Green,” the documentary “Once Upon a Time in Harlem” by William and David Greaves, and Julia Loktev’s “My Undesirable Friends: Part II — Exile.” The festival will also host the world premiere of Takashi Yamazaki’s “Godzilla Minus Zero.”
