New York Film Festival announces 64th edition lineup of filmmaker talks
Film at Lincoln Center has announced the lineup for the “Talks” program at the 64th New York Film Festival (NYFF64), scheduled to run from September 25 to October 12. The program features a series of dialogues between renowned filmmakers, industry professionals, and special guests to complement the festival's film slate.
Key highlights include the “Crosscuts” series, which will feature a conversation between Pedro Almodóvar and Sofia Coppola on October 5 at the Walter Reade Theater. Almodóvar will discuss his creative process for “Bitter Christmas,” while Coppola will discuss “Making Marie Antoinette.” Other scheduled dialogues include James Gray in conversation with Martin Scorsese, as well as sessions featuring Lee Chang-dong, Mike Leigh, Ava DuVernay, and Andrew Haigh.
The festival will also host the sixth annual Amos Vogel Lecture, delivered by Ryûsuke Hamaguchi. Additional programming includes “Deep Focus Talks” and roundtable discussions such as “Seeing Stars,” focusing on casting directors, and “Making the Cut,” which explores the craft of film editing.
