New York Film Festival announces Currents lineup

The New York Film Festival has unveiled the lineup for its Currents section, a program organized by Film at Lincoln Center that focuses on international cinema and experimental projects. The selection aims to highlight formal innovation and boundary-pushing storytelling, serving as a counterpoint to the festival’s main slate.

The lineup includes 15 feature films and 28 short films. A centerpiece of the program is the world premiere of ‘Bardi’ by filmmaker and photographer Tala Hadid, which explores the world of horse riders in Morocco. Other notable selections include ‘At Night’ by Beatrice Gibson, ‘Red Rocks’ by Bruno Dumont, and ‘Tomorrow a Long Time Ago’ by Luise Donschen.

Additional films in the section include ‘The Remotes’ by John Torres, ‘A Day in the Life of Jo: Chapter Phaedra’ by Jacqueline Lentzou, and ‘Hanabi’ by Ana Vaz. The festival will also host a world premiere restoration of Fred Camper’s ‘Suicide Note’ as part of both the Currents and Revivals selections.
