New York Giants coach defends kicker Dominic Zvada

New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh stated that undrafted rookie placekicker Dominic Zvada’s position is not in jeopardy despite a recent stretch of missed field goals. Zvada missed field goal attempts of 56 and 44 yards during a 27-21 overtime victory against the Houston Texans.

After starting the season 9-for-9, Zvada has gone 4-for-9 over his last three games. He also missed a kickoff assignment in the previous week. Harbaugh expressed confidence in the rookie, noting that Zvada needs to focus on kicking the ball straight and maintaining his composure.

Zvada described his recent performance as ‘unacceptable’ but noted the support of his teammates. He intends to use the team’s upcoming bye week to prepare for their next game against Philadelphia.
