New York Giants enter new era with Jaxson Dart and John Harbaugh

The New York Giants are entering a new era for the 2026 season under head coach John Harbaugh. Quarterback Jaxson Dart, entering his second NFL season after being drafted 25th overall, is projected by analysts to make a significant breakout leap similar to Drake Maye's recent performance.

In his rookie campaign, Dart completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions, while also contributing 487 rushing yards and nine scores. His supporting cast for the upcoming season includes wide receivers Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, and Darnell Mooney.

The team's tight end dynamic is also shifting. Following a three-year, $40 million free-agent signing, Isaiah Likely is expected to be a primary target. This positioning may impact Theo Johnson, who outproduced Likely last season with 45 catches for 528 yards and five touchdowns. While the Giants intend to utilize two-tight-end sets, Johnson is expected to transition into more of a move-blocking and seam role.
