New York Giants face roster questions at quarterback and cornerback

As the New York Giants approach the finalization of their 53-man roster, the team is addressing key uncertainties at the quarterback and cornerback positions.

Second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart is central to the organization’s long-term plans for 2026. While Dart showed flashes of potential and improved consistency during preseason practices, questions remain regarding his ability to serve as a reliable franchise leader once the regular season begins.

On the defensive side, a competitive battle is underway for the starting cornerback roles. Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson noted that players including Paulson Adebo, Deonte Banks, Greg Newsome II, and Colton Hood are all competing for depth chart positioning. Adebo has appeared to lead the group in preseason playing time, while Banks is making a strong push through confident play. Hood is expected to return from a quad injury for the upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys.
