New York Giants sign running back Najee Harris to one-year deal

The New York Giants have signed running back Najee Harris to a one-year, veteran-minimum contract worth approximately $1.215 million. The deal is fully non-guaranteed, allowing the team to release him without incurring dead money.

Harris, a former Pro Bowler, joins the Giants following a season where he suffered a ruptured left Achilles while playing for the Chargers. Prior to his injury, Harris recorded at least 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first four NFL seasons.

His arrival creates a crowded backfield in New York. Analysts note that his role and fantasy football value will depend on his performance relative to other players like Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Cam Skattebo as the preseason progresses.
