New York Governor Kathy Hochul launches website to support Venezuelan earthquake victims

New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced a new state website that aggregates information on humanitarian organisations and donation‑tracking tools to help people affected by the June 24 earthquakes in northern Venezuela.

The portal lists vetted groups such as Aid for LIFE, Casa de Venezuela Orlando, World Central Kitchen and the Hispanic Federation, offers guidance on avoiding fraud, and enables New York residents to contribute financially without leaving home. Hochul stressed that the initiative responds to the strong ties between the Venezuelan diaspora in the state and the disaster, which has caused more than 5,000 deaths and over 16,000 injuries.
