New York Jets rookie Chip Trayanum hospitalized after preseason loss to Giants

The New York Giants defeated the New York Jets 23-6 in their preseason finale at MetLife Stadium. The game was marked by a significant injury to Jets rookie running back Chip Trayanum.

Trayanum, an undrafted rookie from Toledo, was taken to a hospital with a neck injury after being tackled by Trace Ford on the final play of the first half. Despite the injury, the Jets announced that Trayanum was awake, alert, and able to move all extremities. Before the incident, Trayanum had scored the Jets' only touchdown of the half on a 1-yard run.

On the field, the Jets' offense struggled, particularly rookie quarterback Cade Klubnik, who completed 6 of 13 passes for 59 yards and an interception. The Jets' defense provided some highlights, including an interception by linebacker Marcelino-McCrary Ball and a fumble recovery by Qwan’tez Stiggers. The Giants' offense featured a touchdown run by Tyrone Tracy Jr. and a field goal by Dominic Zvada.
