New York Rangers honor former star Ron Duguay
The New York Rangers held a tribute at Madison Square Garden to honor former player Ron Duguay, who passed away on October 22 at the age of 69 following a battle with stage 4 colon cancer.
During the event, the team held a moment of silence and displayed Duguay’s image on the Jumbotron. His family, including his children Shay, Amber, and Noah, were present at the game. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin also attended the tribute, appearing visibly emotional as the crowd honored the former athlete.
Duguay played 12 seasons in the NHL, including eight seasons with the Rangers. He was a 40-goal scorer who helped lead the franchise to the 1979 Stanley Cup Final. The organization described him as a New York icon known for his skating style, personality, and charitable efforts.
