Newcastle United signs Ivorian winger Bazoumana Toure, loans defender Harrison Ashby to Luton

Newcastle United completed the signing of 20‑year‑old Ivorian winger Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenheim on a fee reported around £43 million, breaking Hoffenheim’s record sale. The transfer was announced on 7 July 2026, and Toure posted a welcome message to fans, expressing his excitement to join the club and play at St James’ Park.

In a separate move, Newcastle confirmed that 24‑year‑old right‑back Harrison Ashby will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at League One side Luton Town. The loan aims to give Ashby regular first‑team football; his contract with Newcastle runs until June 2027. Luton manager Jack Wilshere praised the addition, expecting Ashby to make an immediate impact.
