NewDays and Ministop launch food volume increase promotions
Japanese convenience store chains NewDays and Ministop are running simultaneous promotional campaigns featuring increased product volumes at standard prices.
NewDays is hosting its ‘Volume Increase Festival’ (Zoryo Fes) through September 7. The second phase of the promotion, which began on August 25, includes eight items such as salmon and okaka rice balls with 40% more ingredients, fried chicken bento boxes with two additional pieces of chicken, and Parisian sandwiches with 50% more ham. Other participating items include cold pasta, yakisoba bread, and dorayaki.
Minstop is conducting its ‘Zukkyun Zoryo Fair’ through August 31. The second week of this promotion focuses on heavy-duty meals, including a sausage peperoncino pasta weighing over 600 grams with 50% more noodles, and a Mapo tofu and fried rice combo with a 50% increase in total weight. Other offerings include sandwiches with increased egg fillings and cream-heavy desserts.
