Nexon and Blizzard partner to enhance Overwatch services in South Korea
Nexon and Blizzard Entertainment held ‘Overwatch Day’ at BEXCO in Busan to celebrate the transition of Overwatch’s domestic service rights to Nexon. During the event, Blizzard’s Overwatch Director Aaron Keller emphasized that Nexon is a highly suitable partner due to its deep understanding of the Korean service market and community.
Blizzard officials stated that the partnership aims to better reflect the feedback of Korean players, who remain a vital part of the game’s global fanbase. The event also featured developer talks regarding new content, including the development of the new Korean hero ‘D. Mon’, a MEKA unit leader utilizing a sword and shield, and the character ‘Jetpack Cat’.
Other industry updates included Smilegate’s Epic Seven announcing its 8th-anniversary updates and Com2uS preparing for the August 26 launch of its new MMORPG, ‘Zeus: God of Pride’.
