Nexon to take over Blue Archive publishing in Japan
Nexon is set to assume responsibility for the Japanese service of the mobile RPG Blue Archive in January 2027, replacing the current publisher, Yostar. The transition will cover development of the Japanese service, live-service operations, publishing, and marketing.
The move aims to consolidate the Blue Archive intellectual property under one roof, as Nexon Games—the Korean studio behind the title—already manages publishing in other regions. According to official announcements, player accounts, items, and in-game currency will carry over during the transition.
Producer Yong-ha Kim has expressed ambitions to expand the Blue Archive brand beyond the existing mobile and Steam titles. Potential expansions include animation, manga, novels, and new game genres such as a third-person shooter, a strategy RPG, and a survival game. While the company has invited partners to discuss a trading-card game, no formal agreements have been announced.
