Nexon to take over Blue Archive publishing in Japan from Yostar

Nexon has announced it will take over the Japanese publishing rights for the mobile RPG Blue Archive from Yostar, effective January 2027. While the developer, NEXON Games, remains unchanged, the transition will centralize development, operations, and IP management under the Nexon group.

The change follows a request from NEXON Games to end the existing contract with Yostar. To facilitate the transition, players must complete account migration procedures by linking their Yostar IDs to Nexon accounts; failure to do so, such as remaining on guest accounts, may result in loss of access. All in-game data, including paid currency, will be carried over.

Nexon is currently preparing a new environment for the PC version of the game, as the current version will only be available until the maintenance period begins. As part of the transition, Nexon plans to distribute compensation items, including a free 100-pull recruitment and special anniversary tickets.
