NexPhone smartphone delivery delayed to March 2027
Nex Computer has announced that the delivery of its NexPhone smartphone has been delayed until March 2027. The device, which aims to run Android, Debian Linux, and Windows 11 on a single hardware platform, was originally expected to ship in late 2026.
CEO Emre Kosmaz cited technical hardware challenges as the primary cause for the delay, specifically regarding antenna placement, signal interference near the USB-C port, and casing/chassis quality. While hardware development faces hurdles, software work continues; the device is now expected to ship with Android 17 rather than Android 16.
The NexPhone features a Qualcomm QCM6490 processor, 12 GB of RAM, and a 6.58-inch 120 Hz display. Due to rising component costs, the pre-order price for new customers has increased from $549 to $599, though existing pre-orders will be honored at the original price.
