NeXt Economy drives new co‑working hub and social economy report in Italy
The 15th summer seminar of the NeXt Economia Technical Committee presented its report on the New Social and Civil Economy, highlighting public awareness of the need for a paradigm shift (88% of respondents) and challenges in translating that awareness into action. The report, funded by the Bank of Italy, introduced the infrastructure of the National Observatory of the New Social and Civil Economy, which has catalogued more than 1,200 entities operating in the third sector, sustainable finance, consumer protection, labour and ecological transition. Regional observatories are planned for Abruzzo, Tuscany and Campania.
In parallel, the Chamber of Commerce of Nuoro opened a new co‑working space, “Next Nuoro experience & technology,” on 21 July. The hub aims to foster innovation, creativity and collaboration among startups, professionals, universities and cultural actors. The inauguration featured remarks from the mayor of Nuoro, the head of Villanova Coworking, and the Chamber president, as well as a violin performance and an immersive photography exhibition.
