The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) is launching two major subsidy programs to bolster Poland's energy security and renewable energy infrastructure.

A 400 million PLN program, funded by the Modernization Fund, will support biogas production. Running from August 31 to November 30, 2026, the initiative aims to produce at least 40 million m³ of biogas annually and recycle 320,000 Mg of waste per year. The program supports the construction, expansion, or modernization of biomass fermentation plants, with a minimum energy generation capacity of 1 MW. Participants can receive grants covering up to 40% of eligible costs and loans for up to 100%.

Additionally, a 1 billion PLN program titled 'Home Energy Storage' is scheduled for September 2026. This program offers prosumers up to 19,000 PLN in subsidies for home energy storage, heat storage, and selected hybrid inverters. To qualify, energy management systems (EMS) must meet strict European cybersecurity standards, including compliance with the NIS2 directive and the Cyber Resilience Act.
