Nghệ An hospitals treat 34 victims of tourist bus and container collision

Medical officials in Nghệ An are treating 34 victims following a collision between a tourist bus and a container on the Diễn Châu - Bãi Vọt section of the North-South Expressway. The accident occurred on the morning of August 16.

Of the 34 injured passengers, 25 remain under treatment at Nghệ An General Hospital 115. Most victims sustained multiple traumas, including 20 cases of head, face, or traumatic brain injuries. Other injuries include fractures to the legs, knees, chest, abdomen, and pelvis, including one broken cervical vertebra and one broken nose. Seven individuals were discharged after initial emergency care.

Two critically injured patients were transferred to Nghệ An Friendship General Hospital for specialized care. One male patient is in a coma with severe injuries, including traumatic brain injury, a broken cervical vertebra, abdominal trauma, and injuries to both legs that required amputation. The second critical patient is receiving treatment in the dental and maxillofacial department.
