Nghệ An police charge three suspects in goat theft case

Police in Nghệ An province have initiated a criminal case and charged three individuals following the theft of 17 goats from a livestock facility in Tam Quang commune. The suspects, identified as Đinh Văn Tú (63), Đinh Văn Sơn (28), and Tr. V. T. (17), allegedly rented a five-seater car to travel to the remote area and carry out the theft on the night of August 15.

According to investigators, the group used tools to sedate the animals before transporting them to Quỳ Hợp commune, where they sold the goats for 32 million VND. The total value of the stolen livestock is estimated to be over 35 million VND. Authorities have recovered five of the goats. Đinh Văn Tú, identified as the ringleader with a prior criminal record, surrendered to the police after being persuaded by local officials.
