Nghe An police bust fraudulent spa posing as bone and joint clinic
Nghe An Provincial Police have launched an investigation into a fraudulent scheme operating under the guise of a beauty spa and sauna called ‘Phuc Tam 8’. The group is accused of defrauding nearly 300 victims of more than 9 billion VND by posing as a specialized bone and joint clinic.
Authorities have arrested and detained Vi Van Dong, Vu Thi Ha, and Pham Ba Tai on charges of ‘fraudulent appropriation of property’. Investigations reveal that Dong and Ha organized the illegal medical activities because they lacked the necessary medical and pharmaceutical licenses. They hired Pham Ba Tai to act as the registered business owner to conceal their involvement.
The group used social media advertising to promote fake medical technologies, such as ‘high-frequency waves’ and ‘nano calcium injections’, promising painless treatments with a 95% success rate. Instead of providing actual medical care, staff used scripted consultations to sell treatment packages ranging from 3 to 30 million VND. During sessions, they performed ‘fake injections’ using pens to trick customers into believing they were receiving advanced therapy. Most victims were elderly individuals from various provinces across the country.
