NGO Paidiki Chara accused of blocking donation account for Maritina

The lawyer for the family of a young girl named Maritina, Alexis Athanasopoulos, has made allegations regarding the NGO Paidiki Chara. He claims that a relative of the defendants reportedly filed a complaint with a bank to block a personal donation account opened by the child's mother.

Athanasopoulos alleges that the relative deposited 100 euros into the account before claiming it was not a legitimate sponsorship account and that the child did not require financial assistance. The lawyer suggests this action was intended to redirect donations through the NGO's own accounts, allowing the defendants to control the flow of funds.

While the mother's personal account was initially frozen, it was subsequently released by the bank. The family has not yet determined the total amount of money processed through the NGO. The lawyer has called on other families who believe they have been harmed by the organization to file complaints to assist the ongoing investigation.
