NHL Free Agency 2026: Top Five Unrestricted Free Agents Still Available

The 2026 NHL free‑agency period is three weeks old and most marquee names have already signed new contracts. A handful of players remain on the market and are viewed as valuable depth options.

The five remaining unrestricted free agents highlighted are forward Eeli Tolvanen, 27, who fell from 23 goals in 2023‑24 to 12 last season with the Seattle Kraken and earned $3.475 million last year; goaltender Jacob Ingram, 29, who posted a .899 save‑percentage and a 2.60 goals‑against average for the Edmonton Oilers, earning $1.95 million; and forward Alex Bunting, 30, who tallied 13 goals and 31 points in 61 games for the Nashville Predators before a trade to the Dallas Stars produced limited output. The other two slots in the top‑five list are occupied by players not yet signed, offering teams additional scoring depth or goaltending cover.
