Gauthier, 22, is coming off a breakout season where he scored 41 goals and recorded 69 points in 76 games, helping lead the Ducks to their first playoff appearance since 2018. The signing follows a period of significant roster movement for Anaheim, including matching an offer sheet for teammate Leo Carlsson and terminating Chris Kreider’s contract to create necessary salary-cap space.

General Manager Pat Verbeek described Gauthier as a “major part of our young core” and a talent expected to develop into an elite NHL star. The contract is the second-highest AAV on the Ducks roster, trailing only Carlsson’s $18 million annual salary.
