Niamey and Danamadji Hold Health Committee Meetings to Boost Public Services

On 28 July 2026, municipal authorities in Niamey convened the regional health committee for the first half of 2026. The session, chaired by Governor General‑Division Assoumane Abdou Harouna and attended by City Administrator Colonel Boubacar Soumana Garanké, reviewed 256 planned health activities, of which 143 (56.25 %) were completed. Financially, the programme’s budget of 1 618 218 545 CFA francs saw a 46.74 % execution rate. Officials emphasized the need for greater community involvement and resource innovation to prepare recommendations for the upcoming national health committee.

A day earlier, 27 July 2026, the health council of Danamadji sub‑prefecture in Chad gathered administrative officials, health officers, traditional and religious leaders, and development partners. Sub‑prefect Tougondjidé Tedebaye Léonard led the discussion, evaluating recent health actions and pinpointing challenges. Participants formulated recommendations to expand access to care, raise vaccination coverage, protect maternal and child health, and prevent epidemics. The sub‑prefect praised health staff and partner contributions, urging continued collaboration to improve service delivery for the local population.
