Nicaragua advances sports infrastructure and hosts upcoming U23 Baseball World Cup

Nicaraguan sports officials have reported significant progress in national athletic development and the country's capacity to host international competitions. Daniel Sequeira, Co-director of the Instituto Nicaragüense de Deportes (IND), noted that the nation has strengthened its logistics, infrastructure, and organizational expertise through hosting various regional and world championships.

A major upcoming event is the U23 Baseball World Cup, scheduled to take place in Nicaragua from November 6 to 15. Facilities such as the Estadio Nacional Soberanía, Estadio Roberto López Pérez, and Estadio Roberto Clemente are being prepared to meet international standards through technical inspections and maintenance.

In recent athletic achievements, Nicaragua secured 57 medals (10 gold, 28 silver, and 19 bronze) at the CODICADER Central American Secondary Student Games. Additionally, the national professional baseball league announced the inclusion of the Dantos de Managua as a sixth franchise for the 2026-2027 season.
