Nicaragua and Mexico implement social services for vulnerable families

In Nicaragua, the Ministry of the Family conducted a series of protection and support initiatives from October 23 to 25. These efforts focused on children, adolescents, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Key outcomes included the integration of 763 children and adolescents into preventive centers in Carazo, Jinotega, León, and Managua to reduce their presence in high-risk areas. Additionally, the ministry managed 1,142 child support payments totaling over 5.8 million córdobas and provided specialized psychological care for survivors of violence.

In Tamaulipas, Mexico, the Sistema DIF organized the Third Social Work Congress in Ciudad Victoria. Led by María de Villarreal, the event brought together specialists to strengthen protocols for protecting children and adolescents from violence. The congress focused on social diagnosis, family assessment, and intervention strategies in hospital settings. Experts discussed identifying rights violations and improving the connection between vulnerable families and support institutions.
