Nicaragua hosts inclusive tech expo and announces school renaming

The Ministry of Education in Nicaragua held an Inclusive Technological Expo at the Experimental Mexico Institute, where 190 students from special education schools presented 10 technological projects. These initiatives, which include adapted educational software and sign language audiobooks, aim to use accessible digital resources to support students with disabilities by improving memory, concentration, and communication.

In a separate development, the Colegio Experimental México in Managua is set to be renamed the Josefa Ortiz Téllez-Girón Institute on October 15. Announced by Rosario Murillo, the change honors the historical figure known as ‘La Corregidora,’ a key participant in the Mexican War of Independence. The renaming follows the official's description of Ortiz as a ‘procer of Mesoamerica’ who fought against colonial inequality.
