Nicaragua educational and technological initiatives

Overview

Nicaragua has undertaken several initiatives focused on technological integration and educational strategy. In mid-October, the Ministry of Education hosted an Inclusive Technological Expo where students from special education schools presented projects such as adapted software and sign language audiobooks designed to assist students with disabilities.

Following this, the country held the I National Congress of Creativity, Research, Science, Innovation, and Technologies across 19 locations. This congress aimed to present research and technological developments to address social and environmental needs. Officials noted that these efforts align with the ‘Bendiciones y Victorias’ National Education Strategy, with institutions currently reviewing educational plans for the 2027–2030 period and updating the ‘Nicaragua Creativa’ National Program for 2027–2034.
