Nicaragua marks July with San Albino Manifesto celebrations and new Tree of Life

On 1 July, Nicaragua began its “victorious month” with nationwide cultural events. Vice‑president Rosario Murillo inaugurated a new magenta‑lit Tree of Life in Sébaco, referencing the 47/19 emblem, and announced simultaneous dianas and youth parades across municipalities.

The National Assembly observed the 99th anniversary of the San Albino Manifesto, the 1927 document by General Augusto C. Sandino that condemns foreign intervention and calls for national sovereignty. Deputies highlighted its continued relevance as a guide for anti‑imperialism and as a foundation of Nicaragua’s revolutionary constitution.

Legislator Dávila reinforced the manifesto’s “living flame” status, linking its principles to recent social projects such as new hospitals, maternal homes, road expansion, housing programs and land‑title grants, underscoring the government’s narrative of progress and independence.
