Nicaragua marks 47th anniversary of revolutionary hero sacrifices

Students from five secondary schools in Managua’s District 7.2 took part in a flag‑relay race organized by the Federation of Secondary Students and the Sandinista Youth to honor the 47th anniversary of the Heroes and Martyrs of Colina 110. Participants carried Nicaraguan, Sandinista and federation flags from the Carlos Fonseca monument to the monument of the heroes, emphasizing the younger generation’s commitment to the nation’s revolutionary legacy.

In the Carazo municipality of Dolores, families, historic combatants and Sandinista Youth marched to the Monument and Altar of the Heroes and Martyrs of Cuastoma. Over 100 participants paid tribute to Juan Fernando Brenes and Fernando Samqui Chang, reaffirming the historic sacrifice and pledging continued support for peace, sovereignty and social transformation.
