Nicaragua prepared to host 2026 U23 Baseball World Cup

Nicaragua is prepared to host the U23 Baseball World Cup, scheduled to take place from November 6 to 15, 2026. The tournament will be held across three venues: Managua, León, and Masaya.

Following a technical evaluation by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), officials confirmed that the facilities are largely ready. WBSC representative Paul Bernal inspected the Estadio Nacional Soberanía in Managua, the Rigoberto López Pérez stadium in León, and the Roberto Clemente stadium in Masaya. The inspection covered playing fields, security areas, access points, dugouts, bullpens, and media spaces.

Logistical preparations are also underway, including arrangements for accommodation, transportation, food, and security. Approximately 600 volunteers are participating in the preparatory works. The tournament is set to open on November 6 at the Estadio Nacional Soberanía with a match between Nicaragua and Australia, with the final scheduled for November 15 at the same venue.
