Nice Natural History Museum reopens after renovation

The Natural History Museum of Nice is reopening to the public on October 14, 2026, following an eighteen-month renovation. The project, which began in April 2025, focused on modernizing the museum's scenography and improving visitor spaces.

Founded in 1846, the museum houses over one million specimens and serves as a research laboratory for biodiversity. The new visitor experience, titled ‘from the abyss to the summits’, features an immersive journey through thirteen distinct ecosystems. The renovation also included optimizing 150 square meters of space and creating a new area for scientific mediation and educational workshops.
