Nichelino woman arrested for allegedly hitting ex-partner's child with car
A 24-year-old woman, Camilla D’Alessandra, has been arrested in Nichelino, near Turin, on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated personal injury after striking a five-year-old boy with her car.
The incident occurred on a Saturday night in the San Donato neighborhood. Investigators suggest that following a dispute with her former partner, D’Alessandra used her vehicle to hit the child while he was crossing the street with his father and the father's current partner. The woman initially attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by bystanders.
The child was treated at the Regina Margherita Children's Hospital for abdominal trauma. While his injuries are not life-threatening, he faces a recovery period of approximately 30 to 40 days.
Authorities are working to determine the exact dynamics of the event and the motive behind the attack. D’Alessandra's legal counsel has stated that they will seek to establish whether the event was an intentional act or a simple accident.
